This book is raw and real, putting the reader into the darkness of a woman trapped and fighting to find the truth. Leaving my Amish World is authentic, almost like you’re reading the authors personal diary, learning the author’s story while feeling what she felt.

I loved the first book – Leaving My Amish World – as an insight into aspects of a culture I had little information about, and into the life, mind, and spirit of a very courageous, open, and honest woman. In reading these books I have come to care a great deal for this family, which is a testament to the way in which they are written.

Eirene paints a clear, vivid picture of what it is like to be shunned by our families and communities. She relates a lonely, challenging life where she is constantly called upon to rise above daily difficulties and call upon her faith in God and the courage of her convictions. She has more than enough love to go around and this sustains her through all the trials. Her large family is the steady beneficiary of her love. It is a story of alienation and sadness and the triumph of love over hardship. A must read.

This was a great book and story. I was blest by your testimony of how much God loves us and wants us to be in a right relationship with Him. Also how important it is to know that our salvation is not based on obedience to a religion but based on God’s grace, and what Christ did for us on the cross. I am looking forward to you next book.

I was excited to read Eirene’s second book, as the ending to her first book kept me wanting to learn more about her life and faith. This book was so enlightening to me and I enjoyed every page. Even though I grew up near Amish country, I never really knew that much about the culture. Eirene’s love for her family and God shines through! If you haven’t read the first book….start there. I guarantee it will keep you turning page after page and longing for the second book as well!

We are called to take up our cross DAILY and follow Christ, which isn’t always easy to do. Irene is a living example of just how to do that. She gave up everything and everyone she knew to follow Christ. Her story is intriguing, uplifting, and inspirational. I’m ready to read more of her journey!
